Post 11 - Evaluation

Due to our initial location having poor lighting we decided to film in one of the history rooms instead, as in the senior study we could not see the faces of the actors in the video.

Our initial filmed product was filmed on a low quality camera on a low quality setting, this meant that the video was distorted and pixelated. Also the sound had heavy layers of static and the actors voices were hard to hear. On our second attempt we used a better camera and adjusted the settings to give us a better quality of footage, in our main task we will do this initially to allow us to move onto other tasks quicker and to save time.

We did not write a script for our preliminary task, and this made filming dialogue harder because of confusion over lines. In our main task we will make sure to have a script, this will hopefully make filming easier and quicker.

Due to extra time taken filming we did not have long to edit our footage, in our main task we will use our knowledge learned in our preliminary task to reduce the time taken planning and filming, this will give us longer to edit.

When we showed our footage to others, we received some helpful feedback. We were advised to use a tripod to steady our shots, as some were very shaky in our final task. Another thing we were advised to do was to try different cinematography techniques, as we used the same ones and didn't really vary them.

Post 9 - Filming updates

Our initail attempt at filming had the following results.

We decided that we wanted better quality footage so we decided to shoot it again, the inital footage was of bad quality, and the sound was worse. The door shutting sounded unnattural and the whole clip had a heavy layer of static. The dialogue was almost impossible to hear. We re-filmed the footage with a different camera and we paid close attention to the settings on the camera to make sure it would be of decent quality. Our second attempt was much clearer and had barely any static.

Post 7 - Shooting script

This is our shooting script, the green writing indicates where we were going to use the three
media techniques provided to us. We also have a table for the type of shot, sound, timing, and what will happen in the shot.
